The Award-Winning Chrysler Pacifica takes on the Minivan Competition

When Chrysler announced a few years ago that they were discontinuing their long-time, popular minivan, the Town and Country, fans of the American minivan were disappointed. But, when they released the Chrysler Pacifica, we here at Liccardi Chrysler Dodge Ram, as well as our local customers, rejoiced.

The Pacifica continues the Chrysler minivan tradition of three spacious rows that can accommodate growing families, versatile sliding doors that make it easy to load and unload small children and car seats, and flexible storage capabilities. It also ran away with dozens of industry awards in its first couple of years, and introduced the world to a number of new, innovative features.

While the Chrysler Pacifica has been giving Green Brook families a new choice in minivan driving, the Honda Odyssey has been around longer. While ours may be a relative newcomer on the scene, it's giving the Honda a run for its money, as this side-by-side comparison illustrates.

• Budget-friendly price. The Chrysler Pacifica is more accessible for a wider variety of family budgets than the Honda minivan. While the Chrysler starts at around $28,000, the Honda entry-level price is higher, starting at nearly $31,000.
• Power. The Chrysler model also gives drivers more power for their money. While both of these vehicles give you a standard V6 engine, the Chrysler has more horsepower. Also, the Pacifica has a plug-in hybrid powertrain available for drivers who prefer to save on fuel and emissions. It's the only hybrid minivan on the market, too, as Honda doesn't offer the Odyssey in anything but the standard V6.
• Space. Both of these models offer a roomy passenger cabin and seating for either seven or eight people. But the Chrysler model has a little more room to stretch out in, with more headroom, shoulder room, and legroom, especially in the front seat.
